They lingered at Haystacks and had a bit of luck. They followed, and kept up with, one of the other teams who seemed to know exactly where to go, and were going along at a fast pace! Sometimes they slipped from view but our intrepid adventurers kept up, and they eventually reached Green Gable, and the mighty Great Gable. This was roughly half way, and the time was 12.15.

Meanwhile, back at Buttermere, George had packed up everything, driven to Keswick, and then to Seathwaite. From here he walked up to meet us at Styhead Pass, in the rain, with a very heavy rucksack full of extra water and other provisions.
The team were very pleased to see George at Styhead Pass, and happily filled up with water, sandwiches, and other treats. At this stage they were tired, cold and wet but in good shape. The difficult traverse of the corridor route lay before their eyes but they were still confident.
